We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

You did the right thing by getting him off the streets! We can't take in All the Pets even though it is my retirement plan to be the craxy lady with All the Pets.

I am already that lady, I fear.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

We used to have ducks and geese but we had dogs, so they only got to roam the yard sometimes, when the dogs were locked up in the house. It actually put me off eggs for awhile, having to go gather them covered in shit. The ducks were Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The geese were Gus and Gertrude. Ravens got the ducks, and the geese went to a farm, so my parents say. They bit my crotch enough that I wouldn't be sad if they ended up as someone's Thanksgiving dinner.

Read a hilarious article about a couple experimenting with ducks for pest control. Yeah, they controlled the pests, and then ate or trampled the rest of the vegetable garden. The couple then ate the ducks.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm having my first corn for dinner! Yay corn! And while the water was boiling (I boiled way more water than I needed), I made a cucumber-yogurt salad AND a big green salad, so who knows what I will eat next? Yes, it is CSA day.

ita, that sounds shitty. It should not be that much on you to be flexible, I think.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Now they don't even know if they are admitting me today--and I'm sure the joy of admissions comes with "and then when do they treat me?"

The key is to not let this stress me out, but also this is ridiculous. There is some implied commitment on their end when they ask me to show up at 8am this morning. Do they really have (calm) patients sit around in the uncomfortable chairs for seven hours? God forbid someone sick should come in, with anything they needed treatment for.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Yes, it is CSA day.

Woo hoo! I finally burned through the Swiss chard so today will be a kale day. I think I'll braise it and put a poached egg on top and mop everything up with some dark rye bread.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Chicagoistas: you know that the CPL has a 3D printer, right?

That is so freaking cool!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Tomorrow is CSA day and I still have so much lettuce!!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It was also my first no-lettuce day! After I remembered that my key to enjoying lettuce is lemon juice.

I think I'll braise it and put a poached egg on top and mop everything up with some dark rye bread.

Mmmm -- that's my favorite way to eat greens. Also I saute them in bacon fat, pre-egg.
