"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I wish I were closer, Lee, cause I'd let Charlie bark at me.

I went to the grocery store and then to get gas. Between the two, my car died on foothill blvd -- idling rough, but at least not overheating. ARGH. NO GOOD.

Especially no good because I have to go work at UCLA for the next two weeks and Noah has camp that he has to attend. I have no idea how to do this without a car. Except perhaps to rent a car.

so zucchini chips may be the yummies things I've tried in a while. I may need to buy a dozen or so zucchinis.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's 86-feels-like-92 here. Even with the AC going full blast in the bedroom the thermostat says it's only down to 82. I long for the day when none of my kids need afternoon naps - right now a trip to the beach (which we did this morning) still means coming home for the hottest part of the day!

The bedrooms are the only place in the apartment with AC so I'm thinking we put a blanket on the floor and call it an indoor picnic. The dining room table has probably melted by now anyway.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Are you in Canada, Jess? It’s 90°, feels like 96° where I am.

Our wings are not tired.

Wunderground says it is 87° and feels like 98° here. I'm going to chance going outside to swim. I figure in the water I won't sweat.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jesse -- sorry! I managed to miss it entirely. I think I may have to make it a regular thing to check my email, even if so much of it is useless....

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

How do you make those, msbelle? I love zucchini. I just ate up the last of mine in a thrown together concoction, so tasty, but I know I will get more this summer.

That's too bad, Kat. Cars are like that, they know when you need them.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

It's 86, feels like 89, here. Actually not bad in the shade, because there's a breeze. But walking the dog at 6 p.m. wasn't my best life choice.

Trying again.

It's dropped 15 degrees in the last hour and is still heading south. Same storm system that Tep was complaining about earlier in the weekend.

Laundry is in the dryer, errands done, eating dinner. Then I will do my nails and attend to the laundry (make bed) in some order.
