Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think I have to go to the beach instead of yoga. It's too hot to walk to the studio and then do yoga, and also it's a toss-up which is better for my mental health.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Change approved. I'm always in favor the beach.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Feh. It didn't show up on my on demand. I started watching Flashpoint instead.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My yoga problem is that really the only class I like is Saturday at 11:30 and Wednesday at 6. I do like it, though! Maybe I can go this Wednesday.

My mother is making me crazy -- she still hasn't sent out the announcement about the website I set up to coordinate people to hang out with my father. She has all the neighbors' addresses, and probably some other misc people as well. Feh. I've sent it to the church friends, but aren't people on their actual street the best bet to pop by???

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I woke up way too early this morning. Earlier than any other day this week, in fact.

Am grumpy.

Today I need to take my laptop to the Genius Bar, do art, plan a week's menu. That should be all.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Jesse, is there also nursing/attendants who stay with your father?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Just hanging out, watching the nifty hall costumes go by.

I don't think I can read more of the comments on John Scalzi's anti-harassment at cons policy. And, gladly, it's because they're all good and touching (he wields an unforgiving mallet). It's awful that it takes a guy taking a stance to shake things up properly, but then again, it's great that stances are being taken, no matter what gender does it. I hope for as much ripple through impact as possible, and as many assholes outing themselves as possible by criticising him for ruining their fun (there's a guy in the comments, actually, who is weirdly worried he'll need to stop flirting--sigh).

This "fake geek girl" stuff makes me unsurprisingly boil with anger, as does the "well, I was shoved in a locker ten years ago, so I have to make you miserable now. It's my right." line of argument.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We're getting geared up for a double header in not so beautiful downtown Ripon, CA. It's going to be high 90s and we're luckky we're missing temps over 100. This was our least-fun tourney last summer, so in a way it'll be good to get it over with first.
