Walking I get. But power walking? Why not just run for a shorter time?

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

So with all that's going down at work, I need weekend coverage, and the obvious choice to me is paying our current trained intern to do spot watering on Sundays. ED seems set on calling on volunteers (who are retired, rich, and vacationing in their Italian villa right now). I'm at the point of using my raise to pay the chica out of my own pocket, just so I don't have to come in for an hours work and an hours driving round trip. It's like pulling teeth making the ED understand volunteer capabilities and availability.

There's an Armand Hammer Museum here in LA. I'm immature enough that it still makes me smile.

Currently playing Thunder, Fireworks, Oh wait, 'Copter? Saw someone carrying their golden retriever (just a year old) home. Poor pup was utterly terrified by the (illegal) firecrackers and flat out refused to walk 5 blocks from their house.

Noisy out there. Pool opened at 6:30, got my swim.

I had to resort to reading that aloud to get it. Sigh. Braindead.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Have most people never heard of Armand Hammer?

He was an amazing collector. I asked for one of those huge coffee table books on him when I was an early teen. The World of Armand Hammer. Fascinated.

I don't think I've been to the museum though. Now I think I need to go. Or I want to. Which is close enough.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Her adventure only lasted about ten minutes and nothing bad happened, so it was only briefly scary, and then it was funny. Mom loved to drive.

The cheeping smoke alarm will keep me awake. How come they never start cheeping in the daytime?

I've no idea who Armand Hammer is.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Hey, Giles and Spike are both on Warehouse 13!

Fun times!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've no idea who Armand Hammer is.

He was some kind of industrialist, JD Rockefeller-style, and the great?grandfather of Armie.

brillig

People always asked Armand if he owned Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. He didn't, but he eventually bought it so people would stop making a big deal about it.

ION, the skirt I bought online arrived today, and it fits beautifully. Yay! I foresee an expansion of the wardrobe in my future. And maybe t-shirts that will fit over Hubby's belly.

Was that from Woman Within?

He was named after the logo for the Socialist Labor Party. Whose logo is also the image in the center of Arm & Hammer's logo.
