Very good news to wake up to, both the Texas filibuster ending successfully despite shenanigans and the DOMA decision. Bunches of people I know are going to be benefited by the last, and I have a significant number of TX friends who have valid reason to be proud of their state.

I'm happy about it, though I doubt it'll make much difference - I still expect the government to be emphatically voted out at our next election (currently scheduled for September, though it might be earlier now). It might, however, avoid a rout and leave us with a possibly functional opposition.

On the federal vs. state recognition of marriage, I know that same-sex couples who are legally married still couldn't file joint federal taxes, which is obviously ridiculous.

If I recall correctly, Glam was married before Prop 8 was enacted, so she was never not married.
