You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

So...lassitude is going around.

I need a nap and instead I am watching All of the Racing.

I've been doing this long enough that I can generally stack all of the races together when I don't feel like being up at 4:30 a.m. for Monaco. We all have our skillsets. Only 600 miles to go.

how is your dad away from your mom

He's okay. He seems a bit better with more external support for her, and he's more willing to leave her alone. But he's not a chatty guy, and it's a bit hard to tell.

Being willing to be away from her (which is important because he'll burn out otherwise and that helps no one) is big. And accepting the outside support. I am thinking of you guys, Consuela. You are in a really rough place and it is so hard to figure out the best steps.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

hey people with dark hair who add bright color to it? DO you bleach before you can add color? I am thinking of doing something to my hair. maybe a really bright red or purple or a pink.

I have to bleach my streaks before I color them.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I was just going to say I have to bleach a ton to get color in it.

I cleaned the kids' closet out today, a job that was causing anxiety every time I went into their room.

K is cutting the brisket (against the grain) and it goes back into the oven for an hour. I should got through kids' drawers and pull out clothes.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh. Third day in a row with a temper tantrum. This had Isaac trying to kick me in the face. He was completely flooded and out of control. He's trying to calm down now. I am so done with this behavior.

I should do that too so I can take a load to donate.

Cody and Franny are putting up the tent in the front yard so she can pretend it's a treehouse.

So. Tired. I worked yesterday and I worked today and my kids are being annoying jerks.

But at work I did passport applications for a just-married-in-New-York-last-week pair of young women who are planning a nice honeymoon trip and they were so happy and adorable. That was nice. Even if the federal government issuing their passports does not recognize their marriage. Yet.

Old tent in the front yard is an absurdist experiment. No instructions, crazy old skool tent poles, oy! But DH and F are having a grand old time putting it up.
