Oh, I get it. You just don't like who did the rescuing, that's all. Wishin' I was your boyfriend what's-his-height. Oh wait, he's run off.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Old tent in the front yard is an absurdist experiment. No instructions, crazy old skool tent poles, oy! But DH and F are having a grand old time putting it up.

Aw, I remember setting up our tents (I could probably do it in my sleep, we did a lot of camping) in the backyard and having campouts. Sure, I usually migrated back to my own bed, but we'd have half the neighborhood kids over.

One load of laundry drying, one in the wash. Still have another to do (work clothes) but figurede I'd wait until tomorrow and toss today's outfit in as well. Clean sheets for everywhere!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I did more battle with the Back Porch. Discovered a mover's box of record albums (at least 70) which I can't lift.

Note that I moved into this house in 1999. Even though I haven't opened that box since then... I still don't want to get rid of the albums, which I don't have a record player for. SIGH.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If I do one thing tomorrow, it has to be laundry. It may just be laundry.

Theo, wouldn't they do someone more good who can play them?

Because books.

I was in Target yesterday and they had the Steve Miller Band's Greatest Hits and I think Dark Side of the Moon, on vinyl, for $21.99. And they were selling a cheapo record player right beneath them.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I have started looking for classic gothy albums when I go to thrift stores, and I don't have a record player. I think I just want them for nostalgia/ephemera reasons.

Our wings are not tired

I have somewhere between 300-500 albums still. There are one some nice shelves in my studio. I do actually still have a turntable though. It's actually a nice direct drive one that even has a USB output so that I can use it to digitize things that are out of print when I need to.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Had a nice bike ride with my sister and then ate chips & too much guacamole with a glass of wine on her back porch.

I want a porch I can sit on that doesn't mean I have to watch my neighbors and the drug deals I assume they're doing.

... and another firm asked to interview me. Which is nice. Now I'm beginning to think the problem will be getting all the offers at the same time so I can evaluate them fairly...

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Got a ride to the mall and a free dinner from the tenant at work. Got an outfit for next Saturday, although I'll have to hem the pants to work with flats or 1" heels. Went against my instinct and decided to shop in basic blacks, because I just don't own any. My color-neutral base is brown, it's what I feel comfortable with, but I'm seeing the value to having some basic black to make ensembles that aren't so reliant on brown/rust/orange/peach. It's a color I'm uncomfortable with (like red), mostly due to unfamiliarity on my own skin. And that's due to me rebelling against everybody wearing black. I swear, when I walk the streets of Manhattan, I'm the sore thumb.

I wish I could find knee-peddlers/swing-pants/not-capris/whatever that style is called these days where the length is three quarters but it's straight or even wide on the knees. I hate skinny knees, especially where it draws attention to how much they taper from my hips and thighs.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I have a vintage-look turntable that my sister got me for Christmas a few years back. Almost all the vinyl I had back in the 80s is gone, thanks to crazy people, but I still have maybe six albums.
