So there is something I can do, besides scream like a woman?

THE EYES!!!!

SO adorable.

I got my used Danskos in the mail yesterday. Wearing them to work today. So far so good on the comfort, but I may need to put some heel grabbers in the back - my narrow heels are sliding up and down.

Today is Take Your Child to Work Day and our company does a fairly big program with stations of learning in each department and this year they added a scavenger hunt. We just had 10 kids barrel through our building looking for a ton of stuff. That should be a good disruption all day. I think there are 3 other groups.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh my GOODNESS. And also, "she-FAHK" might be my new curse word.

The weirdest thing I learned recently: up until the age of about six months, human babies can tell lemurs apart, just from their faces. Beyond that age, one lemur looks pretty much like any other; but little babies apparently possess this vital ability to distinguish lemurs. It seems that it takes that long for us to work out that we're not being raised by them.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oops, sorry Scrappy and Sparky. Post fixed.

Scrappy, I'm glad the interview went well!

I'm about to apply for a job in Anne Arbor. I've been talking about moving back to MI to be near my family for a while, but haven't done much of anything about it, other than set up job opening watches in possible areas. I've tossed many a resume into the void before, though, so odds are not much will come of it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am now trying to imagine a society filled with lemur nannies.

Ann, that's a ferret.

All sympathies, erika.

I, for one, would like a lemur nanny.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm so sorry, erika. We never have enough time with them.

I did not share this thought with any relatives.

My sister and I had that thought many times. We kept it to ourselves. But I doubt we're the only ones.

a pasture full of grazing cows across the street from a Burger King. I'm not sure if that's really convenient or an uprising waiting to happen.

WAKE UP, SHEEPLE! Burger King is cattle! To Serve Beef--it's a cookbook!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

erika, I'm so sorry. It's so hard, even when it's the best thing for them.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

It's weird, because although she slowed up as she got older, even most of the day yesterday she seemed like herself. Than last night, she seized and a bunch of other stuff you don't have to be Dr. Herriot to know is very bad. She was a good friend. She even went to an f2f and tried to snatch Clovis from Jilli.
