Ever since I had to sign an NDA and they said someone was leaking things to the press, and I thought "We have press? To leak to?" I missed the big wave, but I get very wrapped up in the IT side and detached from our business.

Bronchitis seems to be all but cleared up. Now sinus infection. I told my boss I would not be coming in tomorrow.
Oh and I got a manicure. Money I do not have, but oh well.
Got home and found out the slow cooker I turned on this morning wasn't plugged in. Someone tell me this lentil soup is ok to cook after sitting at room temperature (chilly room temp) all day? It has chicken broth and bacon in it...but I really don't want to throw it out! It was going to be so yummy!
I think if you bring it to a boil and simmer for at least 10 minutes it should be fine. Boiling kills nasty things.
Yay, validation!
It's fine!
I don't know for a fact that it's fine, but I would assume it was if I did that. Chilly room temperature is, I think, below the sweet spot for bacteria breeding.
bacon in it
Saturated fats are antibacterial. Heat it up real good and if it doesn't smell funny, eat it!

Plus maybe it's growing penicillin! ...I totally read the Doana Gabaldon books and the lady grows penicillin in chicken broth...
I think the official danger zone is 40-160, and it definitely wasn't THAT cold in here, but fuck it, I'm going to cook it on high for 4 hours and then bring it back to a boil tomorrow before dinner. I put the fancy local kielbasa from Flying Pigs Farm in this soup, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let a little salmonella stop me from enjoying it.
