I hear a lot of rhetoric about how bisexuals either aren't real or are really just straight people who want a thrill or are only good for sex, not relationships, from people in the gay community. It's depressing and hurtful.

I was once told by a therapist that there's no such thing as bisexuality, and that I was just "confused". Not sure what she thought I was confused about, exactly.

They're in denial. That's the idea. They don't want to just come out as gay so they tentatively keep one foot in the bisexual status.
Personally, I'm weary of the need to jam sexuality into a binary scheme, or simple boxes. It's always about cultural baggage and never about actual sexuality.

I like Dan Savage, even though his discomfort with ladyparts is sometimes quite obvious.(Sometimes his column depresses me, though because they're all jaded and stuff and I haven't gotten to a lot of ordinary things yet.)
