I assumed it was like, a security camera, Raq--because who happens to be filming an escalator, just when someone in a wheelchair decides to get on? But then I start thinking maybe it was a prank, and so on, and so forth...

I'm judgemental about the ass of a congressperson who is a doctor and slept with patients and a drug rep, while married no less, and encouraged his wife and others to get abortions. He is, of course, a Republican (which makes the abortion part rather hypocritical). But what got me was the last line of a WashPost article where he was quoted as saying something like "I'm offended, no one has ever questioned my integrity before!" and I"m like DUDE. DUDE. (a) clearly they should have and (b) What part of these situations make you think you still HAVE integrity?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Off the top of my head I can't believe that someone was randomly filming a stranger who *needs* a wheelchair try and take one up an escalator. That strikes me as unlikely at about every point.

However, if they did need help, the clip is seconds long. It's not like there's half an hour of them cackling in the background as she slowly gets pulled between the slits. Dropping the camera and heading over to help seems perfectly possible. It's an animated GIF. It's not exactly salacious lingering.

I know nothing in Scandal is plausible, but I guess we all have our "stuff". Some of the stuff last night was mine. But--it's still campy fun. And... Holland Manners-- who trusted you anyway?

I keep thinking Le Vian is the only company to make jewellery from chocolate. The truth is much more disappointing.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Apparently a lot of Republicans just want Romney to shut up and go away.

Which would be convincing if they didn't agree with him. And they do. They just don't want this shit publicly aired.

They are disagreeing with him so they can look more moderate in contrast and perhaps save their political futures in 2 or 4 years.

Not all Republicans agree with what Romney says. Unfortunately the moderates are being drowned out by the tea-partiers and ultra-conservatives. They're also being driven out of office at an alarming rate.

I'm loathe to paint every Republican with the same brush. [link]

MFNLaw, that was hysterical and true. And in the comments, some dumbass says "A candidate for the Presidency should provide proof of citizenship. Obama should have already been vetted. Why was he not ? That is not a partisan question. It is a simple matter of Constitutional law."

What is wrong with people?

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Okay. Thanks for the advice on the mortgage. I feel a little less guilty.

Yeah, no points, thankfully. It will have to be a HARP loan because we've been see-sawing between above and under water for the last year or so. Very glad it's an option with rates where they are.

I'm so excited. Just purchased CJ's main Christmas present. I've been at a loss as to what to get him. Yes, I have a selection of geeky shirts, but nothing else what jumping out for him. But Jeff Dunham is coming to Colorado in March and tickets went on sale today. I got 5th row tickets!!!!! Now I just have to keep the secret until Christmas. CJ LOVES Dunham. I am also getting CJ a DVD of his and am going to tuck the tickets in that box.

I'm home alone and doing the happy dance. I love it when something just clicks like this. WOOOOT.

I so don't understand the tenacity of birtherism. Every bit of evidence that's reported is either ignored or chalked up to a conspiracy. I've had multiple arguments about it, and they tend to stop arguing (but never actually admit defeat) when I bring up the birth announcements in the two local papers in Hawaii. (Though I suppose some people will argue the microfiche is faked, too.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The explanation is racism.

I have been to the Dr's about my knee and he thinks that I have torn my meniscus. He thinks (based on how much better it has gotten) that it will heal, but I am to call immediately if the leg starts buckling again.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yay on the whole "knee not being as bad as it could have been" thing, Sophia!
