Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Sue, I hope the rest of the trip more than makes up for the sucky start.
Um, I'm sure when I get to Dublin and meet a hot Irish guy and breed, I will have a story to tell our grandchildren. But for now, I am back home.
I just got home. It's 4 AM. We were on the plane, at the end of the runway...It was snowing and the plane needed to deice again. Suddenly we're back at the gate.
So I get to try to the Hfx>Lon>Dub run again tomorrow.
It's starting to feel a little personal.
Also, US Airways won't let me change my return flight without a change fee, which is dickish of them in the extreme. Tomorrow I will assault them on the phone and twitter.
I assume we're talking about the Champ. I saw that in a drive in when I was weee, and I still can't even.
I should mention that I shared a cab home with a women travelling on business who paid for the whole cab ride. ($72!!!)
OMG Sue! I don't even know what to say. I really want joy go get to Dublin. Qualified yay for free cab tide, but still.
I have heard of Ski Week, Kat, though never experienced it. I will have yo ask my sister if she had that when she was in high school, I don't remember it when I was subbing but I was working for a couple if districts so who knows if I would have noticed. I remember Zlincoln and Washington getting smoothed together into Presidents' Day when I was in Elementary school, but now I sm wondering if that I'd a real memory...
Yay $$, Lee!
I read Pope Joan, yeah, secret female pope. And some modern pope numbered the Zjohns to include her, I think? Some sort of acknowledgement.
Oh jeez, Sue! Maybe someday you'll go to Dublin....
Here there is February Vacation and April Vacation, but at least in my childhood circles, no one called it ski week. I just had to reply to someone on facebook who was rolling her eyes at the idea of cancelling one of them due to the snow days. I mean, I'm sure they'll have to make up the time in June if they take it all now, so where's the good in that?
And, sadly, you still have a better chance of being the next Pope, or any Pope, than I do.
So no chance of being Pope in my lifetime, but I do declare infallibility in all areas within my scope of influence, which is significantly miniscule, but trust me on this, infallible.
I'm pretty much immersed in the traditional medicine world, but I don't reject the woo woo. Mostly I endorse researching any and all options when dealing with health issues. There are few one size fits all solutions. There are plenty of examples of success with alternative healing. That said, I would likely opt for pharmaceuticals before leeches, just sayin.
I imagine reiki works for similar reasons as chicken soup - didn't someone prove that soup helps more if someone loving makes it for you? Just having someone pay that attention to you must help something.
Go Scrappy with the international job interviewing skillz!
I would much rather have chicken soup than reiki, given the choice.
NYC schools normally have the week after President's Day off (here we call it Midwinter Recess) but this year since schools were closed for a week after Superstorm Sandy, it's just Monday and Tuesday. Which is fine with me because having to explain to my boss why I need *two* weeks off this close to the end of the fiscal year...would not be fun.
My jacked up neck is getting better, but only as long as I don't tweak it. I just slept funny, which is so annoying.
