A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Our wings are not tired.

And, sadly, you still have a better chance of being the next Pope, or any Pope, than I do.

So no chance of being Pope in my lifetime, but I do declare infallibility in all areas within my scope of influence, which is significantly miniscule, but trust me on this, infallible.

I'm pretty much immersed in the traditional medicine world, but I don't reject the woo woo. Mostly I endorse researching any and all options when dealing with health issues. There are few one size fits all solutions. There are plenty of examples of success with alternative healing. That said, I would likely opt for pharmaceuticals before leeches, just sayin.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I imagine reiki works for similar reasons as chicken soup - didn't someone prove that soup helps more if someone loving makes it for you? Just having someone pay that attention to you must help something.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I would much rather have chicken soup than reiki, given the choice.

NYC schools normally have the week after President's Day off (here we call it Midwinter Recess) but this year since schools were closed for a week after Superstorm Sandy, it's just Monday and Tuesday. Which is fine with me because having to explain to my boss why I need *two* weeks off this close to the end of the fiscal year...would not be fun.

My jacked up neck is getting better, but only as long as I don't tweak it. I just slept funny, which is so annoying.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

If I could psychosoma myself into any migraine relief I don't really care. I'd take any placebo on the market if it worked.

I have had people get in my face and get really mean about acupncture: "You KNOW it's all bullshit, right? I mean, you know you paid someone to scam you???" And I was all, "MY MIGRAINES STOPPED. I don't care if it was a scam, it was an EFFECTIVE scam also FUCK YOU."

It could totally have been the placebo effect, but the headaches stopped. So I say booyah placebo.

(I am a little hyped up on sugar from paczki right now. GO GET SOME PAZCKI, PEOPLE! It was perhaps not the best thing to put in my totally empty, post-stomach virus belly, but I don't care. Everything is color-shifted. Those things have SO MUCH SUGAR. I think that soon I will be shooting laser beams out of my hands.)

Because books.

That will be awesome.

The one I ate (okay, only *half* of one, because gluten; I cannot imagine how I would be feeling if I had eaten a whole one) had a filling the bakery described as "sweetened cheese," and I assumed it was like the cheese on a danish. But it was more like Bavarian cream. SO GOOD. It was transcendent.

I really can't get over how rude some people are. Who does that??

Because books.

I have to go get some -- I was running late this morning or I would have stopped. I've never actually had the kind you had, but I assume that's what the bakery will have. I expect to commence sugar bliss shortly.

Sue, I'm so sorry about the trip so far. What a mess.
