I used to go through it every day, and the Chevy Chase roundabout is definitely bad. At least some of the other big ones have so many lights you stop every five feet (Dupont) even if people still don't know what lanes to get into!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

The problem I think this guy (and maybe everybody else in the room but he's the only one who said anything) has is that I don't give people a chance to finish what they are saying, I guess? Or I talk over people?

I can't help but wonder if this is an ingrained gendered response to a woman who has power in a meeting, or who is anything less than completely subservient in a corporate context. I oversimplify, of course, but damn don't I see a LOT of completely internalized sexism in the workplace.

I'm feeling a little aggro on the fate of my gender these days. This happens more and more frequently until something shiny distracts me from it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's some impressive Tetris action, aurelia.

Great picture, Suzi!

Very glad you got your package, Sophia. I usually do get the notices along with the packages, lately. I guess in case the package isn't there, I'll know it was at one point?

Also, OMG, the no left turning this is AMAZINGLY insane here. As are the drivers. People be on their phones ALL THE FUCKING TIME. And there's this combination of total aggression and spacing out that is super dangerous.

Boston (and surrounding environs) gets a lot of shittalk about bad driving but people there drive with PURPOSE. We just get agitated if you don't have a plan too. Really, a lot agitated. And turn signals, you can't put those on until just before you turn, because it's a sign of weakness and you are GIVING YOUR WHOLE STRATEGY AWAY.

I am a Boston aggressive driver that's picked up a whole new set of bad New Orleans habits (like not stopping for red lights!) so I am a total fucking menace.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Man, the show Hustle is really cruel in season 6. Are we supposed to identify with the con artists, or with the everyman bartender? Because they're royal doucherags to him. My urge for completeness and finishing off the series is getting weaker and weaker...but summer is so dead for TV. Tsch.

I'm very chatty in the meetings I lead, but I also rarely run over time. I think I have a good 3/4 done reflex to get my second wind and power through to the finish line.

My old boss did *not* like how I started every meeting off socially. I think he felt I wasn't exercising any control. But he would keep taking it away from me, so he caused what he saw. My current boss and my manager let me keep the reins the whole time now, even if I'm presenting to the CIO or other directors and it works out fine. Said CIO, directors, and manager are all female, but I have no idea if that affects the price of tea in China.

Does anyone here like MPREG? Do you feel it's the same psychology as the forced/alien impregnation trope where the victim is female?

I have no interest in MPREG. Frankly, I don't see the appeal, but then I have beautiful cake that other people don't like, so.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Man, the list of people I hate today is so long. I'm ready to drop the bomb on mankind, because at least then the rape jokes would stop.

Oh, dear, Dana, what are you reading?

Oh, you know, the Kickstarter thing, the Lara Croft rape thing, the Michigan vagina thing...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Most of the people I've seen describe their liking of MPREG have said they have a body horror appreciation of it. But these were not people who described it as a kink, just as a narrative interest. Not sure how different those two groups are.
