Our cafeteria at work delivers to our offices, which is nice. Today though, I got the weirdest greek salad. There are no olives and no feta. It is just iceburg lettuce, cucumbers and tomatos, with greek dressing. I have had this salad before, so this is just strange. And not very good!

What *is* the connection between Paleo and Crossfit? Does one recommend the other?
People are ridiculous.
That is all.
Oh, ION, there was a terrifying piece on NPR this morning about how pertussis is BACK, baby. So if you have a lingering cough (even without whooping), please do go get it checked out.
I think it would be easier and simpler to just eat moderately, but I guess we don't do moderation in the US.
This. I mean, diabetes or not, I'm not giving up the occasional slice of birthday cake, for instance.
For me, too, I always feel like as soon I'm told I can't have a certain thing, it's all I think about, and all I want.
The thing I notice about the paleo diet? They aren't eating a lot of insects, are they? I am pretty sure our cavemen ancestors dined on grubs and crickets a lot more than they did steak.
I have seen some Paleo folks advocating eating insects. I(n the US at least, I imagine we don't eat insects because EWW not because we don't think they're Paleo. There's one guy who strongly advocates people eating organ meats (which he insists on referring to as "offal"; it's not helping his case) and he's right, but people don't because we think of organs as EWW. Basically, most modern Paleo folks are looking for foods that they already like that are on the Paleo-Approved list.
No one's really arguing about meat, eggs, and vegetables (though some people eschew root vegetables), though, which makes Paleo essentially Atkins.
(Why is Spony green?)
Why not root vegetables, though, Zen?
Edited because rot vegetables are not the same as root vegetables.
(Why is Spony green?)
In the very early ST:TOS episodes, didn't they dye Spock a little green?
If it was really paleo, wouldn't these people also be getting a lot of exercise trying to hunt and gather their food?
