Quite a macabre conversation this morning!
So I thought I'd update on the aftermath of the birthday FAIL. Predictably there were tears, accusations, and attempts to kick me while at the same time seeking comfort and hugs. I owe him 1,000 dollars he said. And then something remarkable happened: he calmed down. He accepted the offer of a play date and postponing the party for a week. And he happily chatted with me all the way to school. I was happily surprised. I was expecting him to give me grief for at least a couple days.
