If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oops. Capslock. Let's try that again...

I have a whole slice of my wardrobe that I no longer wear, and is probably a bit too small anyway, since the boobies got bigger. But I miss the hanky-top/bustier days, so they're all shoved onto one of the high shelves, and I run my fingers over them from time to time, since they're all silk and plastic and suede and leather.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The other day as I was leaving work, a woman in a business suit got into the elevator, looked at me, and said "you are so lucky you get to dress comfortably at work".

Apart from the "who says that" aspect, I'm okay with that as a style.

At the risk of pissing off the sweltering buffistas, it is currently 60 degrees in my house. I really want to turn on the heater, but it's memorial day, so I am going with fuzzy socks and arm warmers.

Because books.

I'm still waiting for my French toast. Like the princess I am today, apparently.

I love halter tops. LOVE. But I always wind up wearing them in the house and nowhere else, because I'm chicken.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My sister and her GF don't have AC in their house. It's supposed to still be 80 at 10 PM tonight. So I'm not sure about sleeping. Maybe I'll get a hotel or else head back to Chicago tonight.

At least my cat has AC. (I left it on fo her, set to 77.)

I can't wear halter tops, unfortunately, unless they're a fake halter. I can't run anything load bearing over my trapezius muscles at that angle. Five minutes to headache, unless the nerve block is fresh and in full effect.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have a style in my brain that my body can't support.

I have a style in my head that my laziness can't support. Okay, more like twenty styles I'd like to rock, but the point is I mostly stay generic and easy.

This is me, much to Tim's chagrin.

Although today we have a wedding that I'm wearing the retro polka-dotted dress to. (I did not shop for new shoes, due to walking the dog in the heat yesterday and sort of passing out in front of the church. I'm fine, but once I got me and the dog back home, I laid on the tile kitchen floor, drank gatorade, threw up, drank more gatorade, threw that up, contemplated going to urgent care, took a nap, and eventually felt okay around 11 pm. So no shoe shopping.)

But the dress will be kicking.

Good god, Steph. That sounds like classic dehydration. Make sure you hydrate today!

I love that dress, by the way.

My office building is where all the Clear Channel radio stations broadcast from, so I *know* I am not the scruffiest person in the building. There's never any doubt that you're on the elevator with a Clear Channel person.

I eventually was able to keep water and dinner down yesterday, so I got some hydration back in me, and I will definitely be hydrating all day today, since it's supposed to be goddamn 96 and humid and we have to go to a birthday party -- outdoors -- for Tim's dad BEFORE the wedding. (I will be wearing shorts and a t-shirt and then changing into the dress before we leave. No fool, me.)

I have military and an oil company with field workers in my building, so I'm never going to be the most comfortably dressed one in the elevator.
