information libertarian

That sound you heard was millions - okay, thousands - of academic librarians crying out in horror. The number of student information needs filled by ACS data is LARGE.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The number of student information needs filled by ACS data is LARGE.

Every student taking a sociology class in the last twenty years has probably needed the ACS.

This is madness.

Art Crawl!!!

My nieces' names are #1 (Sophia) and #64 (Maya). They are about 10 years apart in age.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

are we supposed to guess what Dana bought?

I know what it is!

It was entertaining! If not very good.

Undercovers? I wanted to like it, but I just kept getting bored.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It is not a giant sloth.

Maybe.

Relatedly, the suitcase is now closed! I hope I can fit all the stuff I had to take out of it into my other carryon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Undercovers? I wanted to like it, but I just kept getting bored.

Yeah. I feel like it would have been fine for USA, you know?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Perfect for USA.

Our wings are not tired.

I bet you "Mason" is directly due to the Kardashians.

And when Rachel named her daughter "Emma" on Friends, it really propelled the "old-fashioned" names trend.

So interesting to watch pop-culture affect baby-names.

I also see a lot of Shonda Rimes influence up in there--Addison, Naomi, Charlotte, Violet...it's like she named Private Practice based on the popular names NOW.

And also on the Shonda Rimes, love the Scandal article. Many interesting points I've seen discussed more deeply elsewhere, but nice to see them touched on in mainstream, as opposed to blog posts. I want to like Scandal more than I do. I also wanted Amanda Tanner's baby to actually be the president's, and have some internal torment, as opposed to the recent "OMG it's all a crazy setup by a secret psychopath in the VP's office!"

Pimping an article in the NYT Magazine written by a friend: [link]

We're hoping to go to her wedding this summer, if my DH can get away from the UN. I guess I should ask if she's inviting kids. Ha!
