We had a pretty geeky audience, but then I think most people who shelled out for Imax 3D opening weekend were more likely to be geeky about either the comics, or Joss, or the actors, or all three or whatev.
And it was true. About half the audience stayed until the absolute end of the reel.
I was SUCH a child, too. Dan held my hand, more to keep my flail down as much as from affection, I think. I make very quiet squeaky noises, and did some bouncing and only had two improperly loud spontaneous verbals expressions of geeky joy, so it was a win all the way around.
(Wow, that totally sounded a lot less porny when I wrote it. Huh. I stand by my reaction, though.)
When I was discussing the Avengers movie with my new coworkers 2 new about the movie, but didn't know who Joss Whedon was. The other (who is a comic book geek, but not a fan of comic book movies- well he said he thought all the lead up movies were cheesy and bad, except Iron Man and Iron Man 2) claimed Joss was "selling out" by doing Avengers because Joss is "indie" and "low budget".
so far a smooth Mother's Day. I am, however, beginning to think more and more of St. Crispin's Day speech as a Mother's Day tie in. Possibly I have some issues in this area.
We are working the day in 30 minute increments. We started at 1:00 and I have the current block plus 3 more assigned, but then am blank. I want every block to be "help mom clean the house" and then the last one "read and go to bed".
If you pick areas for each half-hour, it's an in-depth plan! Maybe one should include dinner, though?
My aunt said what she wanted (and was going to get) for Mother's Day was my uncle and cousin "smiling and joyfully" planting a rhodendron in the yard. The smiling and joy was the key part. Hee.
Saw the family for lunch instead of dinner, so now I'm sitting for a while and then going for my first pedicure of the season! I'm going to a semi-fancier place than I usually do, so we'll see.
Avengers is a big blockbuster, but what do you think this means?
It means they think that he can make money, and that means producers will back him. It also means that he'll be in a position to alternate Tent Pole movies with smaller films for studios.
He'll basically have the same kind of pull that Christopher Nolan did after the Batman movies, or Bryan Singer after the X-Men movies.
then going for my first pedicure of the season
I'm always amazed at the places that are open on Sundays in places of the world that aren't Utah.
Yeah, I kind of want to watch the other two movies to compare, but...like you said, Ruffalo nailed it.
If you watch the first one, it's safe to fast-forward past any scene where you don't see multiple floating frames or Sam Elliot. Well, unless you want to stop and laugh at the
gamma-irradiated poodles

Sooo...maybe he'll make a crappy Superman?
