"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I also may have bought speculoos at Trader Joes. What should I put it on?

Everything that isn't pasta or meat.

YUM.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I am old enough that I feel I should've figured out a system for clothes that are not dirty but are not clean either.

I got a hall tree, the kind of thing you put in the foyer to hang jackets on, and set it beside my bedroom door. Clothes that are not dirty enough to be washed go there.

And to think I used to wonder where the ideas in Dilbert came from.

I used to think Dilbert was just a funny comic. I didn't realize it was a documentary.

amych, I know I am not alone in appreciation for the battle you and so many others waged on the ground in NC. I'm sorry. I am sure it is that much harder for those witnessing the disappointment locally.

What Laura said. I'm sorry this ended up as such a disappointment, amych.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I went to TJS on the way home, and decided against the speculoos, but now I really wish I hadn't. I bet it would go well with the frozen chocolate bananas I did buy.

Spoon!

You know what's funny? For all the faaabulous food I had in Spain, what I miss daily is my morning coffee at the local bar/cafes I found. Bar Los Bocadillos near the hotel,(hey, the guy serving beer at the front was my guy! [link] ) and Taberna del Trovador in Segovia (only coffee places open at 6 am and they were well worth visiting anytime.) The cafe con leche was so smooth. They added hot milk, not cold. And I don't know what made it so good, but the in house gratis-churros were bonus.

I didn't think I was coffee picky. Apparently, it can be learned.

I don't have frozen chocolate bananas, but I did have a peanut butter/banana sandwich for dinner. Some days I just want to be fourteen years old.

Like today, when they handed out certificates to two of my coworkers for meeting a new standard the organization is establishing, and I realized I wasn't getting one because I'm a contractor. I hate this.

The coffee there was definitely different. I haven't had caffe con leche here that's nearly as good, and my sister has given up trying. She thinks there's too much acid in American coffee.

Because books.

I realized I wasn't getting one because I'm a contractor. I hate this.

When I was consulting, but working in the office, I used to feel the same way a lot of the time. Especially because I had once been a full-time employee there.

I'm trying cold brewing. But I haven't achieved the bliss I did there. From the hangover/nightworkers' hangouts! I tried Cafe & Té but their coffee wasn't as good.

I don't think I mentioned the night I had a duck confit and a spanish version of hot bruschetta. Followed by good coffee. Flaky bartender, but he gave my fellow diner anchovies and me an extra glass of wine and all the bread and sweet olive oil (maybe laced with honey? I ran into it at the bocadillos place in syrup containers too) we could eat, so.

Tickles me I was there right on your heels.
