I'm trying cold brewing. But I haven't achieved the bliss I did there. From the hangover/nightworkers' hangouts! I tried Cafe & Té but their coffee wasn't as good.

I don't think I mentioned the night I had a duck confit and a spanish version of hot bruschetta. Followed by good coffee. Flaky bartender, but he gave my fellow diner anchovies and me an extra glass of wine and all the bread and sweet olive oil (maybe laced with honey? I ran into it at the bocadillos place in syrup containers too) we could eat, so.

Tickles me I was there right on your heels.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Exactly, Amy.

Last fall they went around giving people dual monitors, and when I said, "Cool, when do I get one?" I was told I wouldn't, because I was a contractor. Even though I'd been a regular employee for four years and was expected to be one again.

Happily, my boss found some extra money and he's going to make sure the rest of the staff get the dual monitors as well.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I have dual monitors now (well, a laptop on a docking station and a monitor), and it's so awesome. I don't know if I can ever go back. It is especially helpful when looking at multiple documents. It's prevented me from having to print out a lot stuff.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, we got dual monitors a while ago, and they're really helpful for looking at multiple documents. But we had the same thing where we couldn't get them for contractors at first.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

She thinks there's too much acid in American coffee.

Since neither Spain nor the US are coffee-growing regions, I'm guessing it's the milk that's different. (In caffe con leche, anyway. And isn't almost all coffee in Europe espresso, unless you specifically ask for it "American-style"?)

Purplescent!

Poor Emmett made two stupid (really stupid) errors in the bottom of the last inning and his team lost the game. He's in a foul mood. And he's been their best player all season, but still. A bad game and it's on him.

He's got one last game on Friday to wash the bad taste out of his mouth.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My eyelid is twitching, so I thought of Liese.

I don't have frozen chocolate bananas, but I did have a peanut butter/banana sandwich for dinner. Some days I just want to be fourteen years old.

Me too, apparently--I was in the store and really wanted Kraft mac and cheese, but ended up getting corn dogs instead! (They had a box of two, which was perfect--one meal, no compunction to keep eating them!)

I'm listening to Star Talk, and Neil deGrasse Tyson was talking about the eventual double tidal lock between the Earth and the moon. The moon is already locked, and that's why we only see one face, but the moon is slowing Earth's rotation. At some point, half the planet won't be able to see the moon.

You guys, it's like learning that, one day, gravity is going to pull a Highlander II on us.

The worst sequel ever?
