I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

In the interest of giving msbelle more posts to read, I'm going to pat myself on the back for accomplishing a totally mundane goal. I have made an appointment to get my hair cut AND one for a regular doctor's appointment, neither of which I have done in a couple of years. Now I just need to keep the appointments and I will be well on my way to getting back my official grown-up card. Well, one step closer, anyway.

Behave, printer of Zenkitty! (Eta: Oops, too late!)

Good luck getting that disputed charge resolved quickly, sumi. How have you been feeling since you've been out of the hospital, btw? Okay, I hope.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

sarameg, I so enjoyed touring Spain vicariously with you! Especially since my feet didn't hurt.

Speaking of which, I really really need to get in better shape before I go to England. My companions are younger and more energetic than I am, and they almost killed me already dragging me around Portland. I'll never survive England with them unless I lose some weight and get used to walking a lot again. Dammit, I used to be skinny and in reasonably good shape. I blame the desk job.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Also love this jewelry: [link]

I do, too. That's stuff I would totally wear.

I am home sick today. I have gone through over 3 boxes of kleenex since Saturday. My face hurts.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I sent a snotty email to someone at HQ. This office has been a thorn in my side for years, because they are deeply stupid and not as organized as they think. For example: they say we can't do X with a site unless we get the site listed on the spreadsheet they maintain at HQ.

They don't say what it takes to get the site listed on the spreadsheet. Nor, when they send the list out for us to update and correct, do they in fact incorporate our corrections & updates.

So a site that was on the list in 2010 has since dropped off, without notice to me. I sent the correction last fall, but it's still not on the list. Which, you know, I don't care, as the list is basically a farce and everyone in the field knows it, except there's a project I need to do on the site and I can't get funding if the site isn't on the list!

... I may just point to the 2010 list and say that it was on the list at one point and that should be good enough.

Argh. I need to call Citibank, too. That'll be fun.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The house feels cooler when it cools down to 70degF than when it warms up to 70degF, but either way it's 70 (21degC, for you Celsius folks). Why is that?

If you're using your brand new heat pump to cool it, it's because the process of cooling is also dehumidifying.

I blame the desk job.

I blame global warming, Grover Norquist, the Masons and the Trilateral Commission.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Whatever happened to blaming Canada?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have lost track of all the things she knows.

Whatever happened to blaming Canada?

We all want to keep it as a possible "move to" option, and we're afraid they'll close the borders?
