Why do you think I have photos of me with bunches of Canadian hockey players? I'm counting on my Bobby Orr action figure and Bourque jerseys to get me safely across the border.

Okay, called Citibank. They had no explanation for the collection demand, and said that the account had been paid in full and closed out on 24 April--coincidentally, the same date as the collection demand.

I requested a written letter affirming the account was paid in full. Suspect that I offended the CR, because I don't believe them when they say I won't get any more bullshit about the account. And I really dislike the fact that she had no explanation for what happened: if they don't know why it happened, how can they promise it won't happen again?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

When I was in college, I had to pay citibank credit card $5.00 or something like that for a bill.

My bank paid it out as $500. Well, you can imagine that I did not have $500 in the bank.

Boom. 10 checks bounced. And then they bounced again because all the merchants sent them through twice. I had this magnificent balance of something like -$300 after all was said and done.

I made the bank manager send me a letter saying it was their fault for paying out the check wrong and bouncing my check. I also closed my account with them at my earliest convenience when everything was settled.

Because books.

Banks suck. I'm getting closer and closer to keeping it in the mattress, for real.

In other news, have a heartwarming dog story and try not to tear up, I dare you. (Spoiler alert: happy ending.)

Ginger knows a lot. It's impressive.

Consuela, you can also make the collections company prove that you owe that money. But I'm not sure how to get it off the credit report that it shouldn't have been sent to collections!! What a PITA.

Just had a new coworker email saying "Please confirm that Dr[Blahblah] is yours now" and I looked and was like "Um, no. Not on my list. Also, in Georgia. So no." and she got all butt-hurt. Sorry, can't confirm what isn't true!

Amy,

I can't even laugh at that. I'm about there myself.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Similarly, the other day I put on a jacket to go outside where it was 65F, and was so hot! But if it's 65 inside, I need two sweaters. What's up with that?

I'm more likely to be sitting still when I'm inside.

Why are there ants in my apartment and who can I blame for that? They've been annoying me in the bathroom for a couple of weeks but today they discovered the kitchen. Argh! I don't even live on the ground floor! WTH?!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Aurelia, I have ants on the second floor, too. Charlie is a messy eater, and every time I go in to sweep up his bits of kibble, even if it's only been half an hour, there are ants. And others just wandering around, even when there's no kibble.
