Tim named Kato after the Pink Panther character, but he doesn't really live up to it.
Toke was named because she ate someone's bag of weed. She lives up to it.
I named a cat Toshiro in the expectation he would be a fierce warrior only to belatedly realize I should called him Dom Deluise.
ha! I impulse named my cats Uncle Bud & Swifty and both names suited them (continue to suit in U Bud's case).
My brothers two cats were named Logan and Rogue, whom we ended up calling The Evil Doctor Wang and WASSUP!!!!.
Penny was originally Bernice and I picked Penny from Big Bang Theory. I tried Faith, Buffy, Willow, Kaylee, and other fannish-y names and Penny seemed to work.
Dean was originally named Nalu. I named him Dean for Dean Winchester and he was very much like Dean Winchester - loved his food, hated to be away from his family, hunter. He just wasn't as robust.
