I am so glad I got there early enough that they hadn't gotten a backlog yet, because I know there will be one. They divided the voting into two precincts and at least for me had a very helpful college age kid sending you to the wrong one, plus the check in process was taking about 5 minutes a person because the people manning the desk didn't really seem to get the process.

Longer lines here than usual, too.
I was at a Bare Naked Ladies concert in DC in December 2000 on a Canadian federal election day. They interrupted the concert to announce the results and make snarky remarks about the (still ongoing) US shambles.
No line here, but my precinct rarely has one. All booths full and a steady stream of people in/out the whole time I was there. Also, tons of parents bringing their kids, which was always such an exciting and momentous and also boring thing for me as a small person.
I appear to be choosing my City Treasurer based on the candidates' favorite books. Masters of Rome vs the Bible.
t's still less than Americans spent on Halloween this year ($8 billion).
Yes, and 60% of that was me: buying and having all this candy for no trick or treaters.
Happy Election day everyone. Our fresh hell will be over soon.
Happy Election Day everyone! I plan on checking in here often, elsewhere not so often. Esp as the day wears on. At least we already voted absentee, and yes, neurotically checked to make sure our ballots were in.
I'm so glad I voted last week! Thank goodness for the permanent absentee ballot option.
Lemme see, if the polls in Ohio close at 7:30PM, that's 5:30PM PST, and if I go climbing from 7-9PM, I might still make it home in time to hear them call the election.
I was planning to stay in and watch Stewart & Colbert, but my climbing partner's schedule changed, and maybe the gym will be half-empty with everyone at home watching the results.

-t, that makes perfect sense to me! Although I shouldn't want the City Treasurer to use Roman politicking as a go-by, if you catch my drift...
