2 hours to vacation.
And a megastorm in the Atlantic.
Yup, vacation. And I won't answer the phone if the caller ID says work.
All of the sudden, every single one of my top ten netflix instant watch titles are Holocaust documentaries. I know I watch a lot of documentaries, but that seems odd. And also scary (I have reoccuring holocaust dreams).
netflix's recommendation system is broken!
Pretty dress, msbelle, and yes, it would look lovely on you.
Hil, I recommend giving all the plagiarizers no credit on the assignment, and then talking to the class about plagiarism without actually singling anyone out or calling attention to the fact that several students all copied the same answer. They won't do it again if they consequences are real.
Burrell has a point, but your institution may not give you much of a choice regarding how to handle it. I don't know what your policies are. 2 institutions ago they told me I had to report all instances of plagiarism to the dean's office.
So, I'm gonna go read fanfic in the car while this headache calms down. And work from home tomorrow.
All colleges I've worked for, it was mandatory that the university's academic dishonesty policy was included in the syllabus, and students failed the assignment automatically, it was reported to the department chair, and could result in autofailing the class up to expulsion. I had one student who the department head autofailed the course when he plagiarized a midterm essay for a Comp II class.
And believe you me, I covered research methodology, citation and plagiarism VERY carefully in lit and comp courses. I have a no tolerance policy.
ION, I am going as Black Widow for Halloween. I need to buy (and probably spray paint black)two handguns, and rig a utility belt, but I have all the other parts of the costume, I think. I mean, it's not leather or plastic, but I have skintight black leggings and shirt, and either a vest or an underbust cincher, whatever of my sisters that looks best. And I am dyeing my hair superred right now -- for life, not just the costume. And I will be inaugurating my supersexy boots, too; SO not crime fighting boots, but who cares? It's Halloween!
If this were a bigger assignment, I'd probably make a bigger deal about it, but it's a weekly homework assignment. Going through all the reporting procedures for all of them (there were about 15 or 20) would be a royal pain, and I don't feel like it's worth it. If it were a midterm, I'd feel differently.
15 or 20? UGH, Hil!
Yeah, I can see that. Just flunk 'em on it, and read 'em the riot act. I WOULD make copies of all the plagiarized assignments before handing them back, though.
