Oh, lisah--how horrible for your friends, and you. Life and death, both often random.
I *think* the cannibal co-worker told me he used to hang out with Tom Savini. I didn't ask him for spelling, or anything, but Google suggested this guy, and since the stories he told involved setting himself on fire and then running into a mall and jumping into a fire, and also spending Halloween night pretending to be a corpse dangling from a noose on Tom's porch, it does kinda fit. However, the things he said that amused me the most were "I would have liked the first Batman movie better if the Joker had won" and how he didn't skip a beat between fellating the reputation of Joss Whedon, establishing himself as fan numero uno, and then not having heard of Cabin in the Woods. This is, for perspective, the guy who asked me if I'd seen Firefly, after missing that I was QUOTING WASH AT HIM.
So, you know, that.
Hey, can you guys force me to make pineapple raisin carrot muffins today? I think I have all the relevant ingredients, but I'm likely to get distracted by fake projects or just sleeping. All quite attractive.
Oh god, Lisa, that's so sad and awful.
ITA! MAKE MUFFINS.
Many happy birthdays to many people.
lisah, how horrible. I'm so sorry.

youuuu want to maaake muuuuufinnnnnsss... ::swings watch in front of eyes::
geez lisah. did he hit a tree or something? sounds like someone may not have been wearing a seat belt.
lisah, that's completely awful. I'm so sorry, for both your friends and for you.
ita !, muffins are so worth the effort. You can do it! We believe in your muffin-fu!
Also, cannibal co-worker is a fake McFakey fanboy poseur.
I am, however, fine with people wearing high heels with trousers, though I personally don't do it (mostly because I just don't wear high heels).
I got into the heels-with-trousers habit a few years ago when every pantsmaker ever started making the legs incredibly long and wearing heels was lazier-easier than hemming. But I think I need to give up on heels -- my legs and feet have been grousing endlessly for the last few months, and last weekend my dad treated me to a lovely pair of moderate-height, round-toed fancy German padded-insole super-supportive comfort-lined character shoes; they felt great in the store but I'd lost all feeling in my toes by noon on the first full day of wearing them. If I can't wear those heels without agony, I'm afraid I'm just done.
Nine miles! Wow--that's great, Bon. I think the most I ever managed was around four.
Pineapple raisin carrot muffins sound delicious.
Lisah, how distressing. I'm sorry.
I got distracted by two things--my soy milk curdled (cereal is not how you want to discover that...still shuddering), and then inventory of my spice cupboard.
Luckily the muffin recipe doesn't require milk, because I'm askeered to open the last box (it's not supposed to curdle! It's soy! It's in the magic foil box! It's best before 2013!). And now I do know I have ground ginger, which I was going to omit.
So...there's that.
Shame there's spices all over my stovetop, though.
I was going to bake, but now I don't really feel like it. Partly because I bought Doritos to go with my chili, so don't need cornbread anymore. But I could still make squah bread! Eh. The squash will keep.
I have a recipe for English muffin bread I want to try, but I have a serious problem with getting off the bed today apparently.
