Lee,

if Prop 30 fails, then it triggers automatic cuts and increased furlough days (this year we are at 10, that will double if it fails). Prop 38 has mandatory funding with sliding scale taxes and much less support.

I will definitely vote for 30 and am iffy on 38. Twenty fewer instructional days is an entire month which obscene in terms of instructional minutes and what can be learned.

meara, where did the sweet potato butter come from? Was that also TJs?

Nope, that was a random "hey, here's the strange discontinued foods at TJ Maxx" pickup.

It's a Monday, so I'm keeping the rumchata on one glass. Maybe another day...:)

CJ put in a good 12 hours with his team searching for the missing 10 year old. They are going out again tomorrow. I told him that Wed and Thur he has to go to school because he is off school Friday and all next week. He needs to get any fall vacation assignments.

He said that his team was the first of the search and rescue teams to arrive for the briefing this morning and that many of the people at the command center had good things to say about ARP. Really nice to know that a team of high school kids has such a great reputation in the search and rescue community.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Zenkitty, no worries, and thanks for the heads up.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks Kat! That's what I was thinking, but I wanted to check and see what someone in the trenches thought, in case I was missing something.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Nice-looking floors, Zen!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My dinner was Farina. Low effort and soothing to the throat were my only criteria. Coughing all the time is really tiring, plus I had to be at work at 6:30 this morning. I am so not wired for that.

I found myself standing next to Tom Brokaw for a few minutes this afternoon. And I saw Colin Powell across the room.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I made the carnitas tonight from the monthly cooking. But since I had today off (thus begins a season of Monday holidays for the Feds) instead of taking advantage of pre-made food, I spent a couple hours making homemade pickled onions, roasted salsa, and margaritas.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Gah, just had a painful convo with my dad about why I won't buy a house to live with them.

In sum: living with me will not fix their problems, like lack of socialization, and they are going to need professional care at some point. (Also, what I didn't say: I would go MAD.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am worried that 30 won't pass. Basically I am dreading this election.
