Huh. I totally would've over estimated blacks and Latinos. Not sure about asians, and I mightve underestimated Jews.I would've guessed closer to 20-25% for both black and Latino.

The loops at the tops of these boots are bootstraps. There used to be handles with hooks you hooked through the straps to pull the boots up over your thick socks. The metaphor of pulling oneself up by one's bootstraps was of working hard enough to graduate from stinky stable workboots to elegant shiny new boots--and servants to get them onto your feet.
