I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield got stalked by paparazzi this weekend, and used the situation to do some charitable work. Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

Nice!

Am home for lunch and headhunter prep, then to the vet. All things considered, the timing here is pretty good.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just had the third worldsiest drive home. Yes, I know. Move on. But it's personal, and I'm still a tinge agog.

Head hurts like a bitch. Leaving for the airport in an hour. I should be sleeping, but I'm here instead. Happy birthday, Lee.

I highly recommend the Avalon villa in Port Antonio to anyone. In the off season it's just $850/night, and sleeps eight with space to spare. Food is not included, but if you buy it, you have a cook and a butler at your disposal all day. And a maid. You are on the water. The living room opens out onto a patio opens onto a dock, and you can go down the stairs into the water. There are ocean kayaks and lilos, TVs and DVD players, two dining rooms, and a bar.

I cannot recommend it enough. I want to go back right away. One of the best vacation properties I've ever been to. Certainly the best I've ever paid full price for.

Always Anti-fascist!

Not being fashionable, Connie, I think that stuff is like concept cars. But I could be wrong.

Because books.

What is the time frame between showing things on the catwalk to maximum publicity and selling things for actual use?

The lead time is to allow for orders. Designers show their pieces, and then produce what's ordered by different departments stores and retailers. Time has to be built in to do that.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, I imagine magazine leadtimes figure in too, no?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Fifty Shades of "OMG, No Way" - Neatorama

A onesie with the words "Nine months ago mommy read 50 Shades of Grey". Huh.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Many happy returns, Lee!

brillig

Is "haute couture" custom made to the wearer? And "couture" just really good stuff you can get in fancy stores? As I said, I am fashion clueless.

information libertarian

"Ready to wear" is the "designer" stuff sold in stores.

The fashion looks shown now will also influence mass market stuff - colors, shapes, etc., are being watched by the people who design stuff for Gap, Old Navy, H&M, etc. and are starting their spring collections.
