Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

I love my Dutch oven, although I can't remember the brand. Most of my other pots are pretty cut-rate, although my cast-iron skillet is seasoning nicely.

Happy birthday, Lee!

I had scheduled a meeting on Friday for today but half the attendees are out of the office, so I've rescheduled it for next week, yay. And it's an extra-short week for me because I have my regular Friday off, and tomorrow my sister & I take the day off to tour eldercare facilities.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEE!!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Warp Drive May Be More Feasible Than Thought, Scientists Say

White and his colleagues have begun experimenting with a mini version of the warp drive in their laboratory.

They set up what they call the White-Juday Warp Field Interferometer at the Johnson Space Center, essentially creating a laser interferometer that instigates micro versions of space-time warps.

"We're trying to see if we can generate a very tiny instance of this in a tabletop experiment, to try to perturb space-time by one part in 10 million," White said.

He called the project a "humble experiment" compared to what would be needed for a real warp drive, but said it represents a promising first step.

Awesome! Also, I am in the wrong line of work.

Here's something for the Good Things Tumblr:

Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield got stalked by paparazzi this weekend, and used the situation to do some charitable work. Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

I just thought of, and Googled, an professor I had as an undergrad, and she turns out to now be the program manager for the FBI's Art Crimes team. Not at all what I would have expected! People have such interesting lives!

Could someone who is more fashion savvy that I explain something to me? The fashion world is putting out their Spring collections right now. Is it expected that these clothes are what fashionable people are going to be wearing in six months' time? What is the time frame between showing things on the catwalk to maximum publicity and selling things for actual use? When actual spring rolls around, aren't there going to be masses of new new things to attract the eye?
