I like my Revereware pots and pans. But I also have a cast iron pan that used to be my Dad's. It's great for eggs and suchlike. The Revereware set was a graduation gift in 1989. After 23 years of regular use it still looks new.

Happy Birthday Lee!
And happy 10th to us!
I like vintage revere ware and the Calphlon higher end stainless steel. Not the simply Calphlon line. I think they may be discontinued, because I got a lot of them on steep clearance.
ETA: It seems the line I have, which is the commercial stainless steel is discontinued. They still have the commercial hard anodized [link]
Oh, yeah, like it's finals week and he hasn't been sleeping much and he just can't get that damn pickle jar to open! That would really fry his tentacles.

I own one nonstick frying pan for eggs, one cast iron for high-heat searing, and everything else is stainless steel.
I can't remember if it was Cook's Illustrated or Alton Brown - I think it may have been both - but for nonstick you want to buy medium-cheap so you can replace it when it scratches. There's a trade-off in nonstick coating between durability and nonstickyness. CI recommends Farberware.
Happy birthdays Lee, Nora, and baby panda!
I woke up this morning to my cat puking blood. Yikes. So I can get him into the vet this afternoon, but had to make it a little later than the first available, because I have a call with a headhunter at that time! My day just got a little too exciting.
Happy once and future birthday, Nora!

Happy birthday, Lee! I would like to assure you that, evidence to the contrary notwithstanding, your birthday has not been outsourced to China.
