"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Yay! Kate! Not having to pay for a new ceiling is good.

I'm spent. I hate the current humid-for-LA weather. N & G have a ridiculous amount of homework for Kindergarten. But I will say, the "Get Well Grace" cards her classmates made were amazingly sweet.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, classmates.

Well, ita !, the clear solution to this problem is to buy more skirts.

To the loungey problem. I don't know the answer to the meds problem. But, hey, documentation?

Thoughts this morning:

Why are the people who are clearly back-in-parking-challenged the ones who back into a spot?

Nylon track-pants and tevas at work? Really? I cannot take you seriously.

Ha! I'm a mediocre at best backer upper. I don't even try if there are people around to watch me correct, then correct again, them one more time. Or just give up. Pull through spaces are my favorites.

My grand-nephew was born last night at about 8:30p. Remarkably adorbs for 1/2 hour in the world. A ton of hair. All are doing well and healthy.

ETA: Oh, and he was born on his parents' anniversary.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I endorse Liese's "more skirts" plan, and am keeping all fingers crossed that the med-dispensing people manage to not only read your doctors' recommendations but follow them.

Yay grand-nephew!

I woke up early to go to work early to transcribe the Tuesday 7 AM meeting (get to leave at 4, though, so it's not all bad), and found that an opponent on an Atlantic discussion thread (not EvoPsych!Buffy Guy, another one) had backed down from ranting and raving and started his latest missive with, "Fella - you seem like a nice guy and all." I feel like I've hit some kind of Internet milestone, being gender-misidentified (I assume it's because of having a genderless pseud and mentioning baseball in a discussion about Nate Silver). Today I am a man!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay grandnephew!

Today I am a man!

Ahaha!

I was running super late this morning, and barely made it on to the shuttle van -- the driver told me it was full, but nice colleagues pointed out on more slot in the back. The upside to running late is that I was door to door in less than 20 minutes.

Ditto what Steph said. And you are an awfully nice fella.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Today, I am a fountain pen.

hip deep in pie

Today I am a man!

congrats!

Congrats on the grandnephew!

I am ridiculously excited about the return of Downton Abbey. Even though it's not hitting the US until January. (That will not stop me.) I've been watching all the trailers and teasers on tumblr and squeeing.
