Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Stay safe NOLAns!

I DID know that The Tennessee Waltz was one of TN's state songs. I was born there. But, I mostly hear the Homer & Jethro parody version when I hear the melody. Thanks, Daddy!

The family car was a Volkswagen Bus from the time I was 4 until I left home for the Army at 20. My father tried to teach me to drive stick, off and on for a year. It took my Mother 1 weekend. We yelled at each other a lot, which my father never did, but I was damned if I wasn't gonna prove my mother wrong and get the hang of it just to shut her up!

eta: Instead of yelling, father just flinched a lot.

I have contemplated paleo (or something similar) but not actually tried it.

Who has suggestions of awesome places to see/shop at/eat at in Portland, OR? It has been decided upon as the last-minute replacement for New Orleans. Not quite as exciting, but easy to get to. And tax-free shopping!

My plan is to stay home the next few days, try to get some crap done (like oil change for my car) and then go try to have some fun in Portland.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Mmm... butter chicken! I bet it would be about the same (less time) in a dutch oven... Pondering.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That sounds great, Cash.

I really don't eat very much poultry because of the ethical considerations, and I have no local sources of free range chickens. Eggs, sure, from people who have named their chickens and aren't going to call them dinner.

We eat a lot of game.

The trainer wasn't saying, do paleo, just that googling paleo should get me some good recipes that were protein focused, non-processed foods.

Trust my rage

Ive considered paleo. Mostly I'm eating lots of fruits and veggies and generally avoiding carbs. I feel better that way but I love diet coke so that creeps in.

Loki's been asleep in the bakeware cabinet for 2 hours. Which is why all my storage containers get washed before use.

Going back, I knew NM's anthem- it was part of a penmanship exercise in 5th grade. And we've got a state bird, veggie, tree and cookie!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

When I'm able to buy a new (to me) car, I'd like to get a stick. But I haven't driven a manual for many, many years. I'd rather get some practice before it comes time to test drive cars, yet I don't know anyone who owns a manual.

Sending safe~ma vibes to NOLA.
