Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Does anybody do paleo stuff?

My friend A. took her whole family to a Paleo diet after they found that her husband and kids were gluten intolerant. Started a blog about it. Says she feels better than she ever has. Realistically, low-carb is probably as close as I will ever get to paleo, myself. It's too much work.

Since we're on the subject of food, this is an interesting post on the incredible variation in how we absorb energy from food:

Consuela, that's a great article.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I am also having a text argument/discussion with new neighbor P about geeky tv. He didn't like Serenity, and I think the last few seasons of BSG were largely crap. Good times.

You tell him to SHUT UP and Mal will kick his ass, even if I basically agree with him.

Liese, here's a blog post by an athletic woman who is trying the Paleo diet: [link]

She really likes it, although I know there are questions about the, um, philosophical/anthropological underpinnings of the theory. Still, more vegetables and less processed carbs sounds like a great deal to me.

In fact, I just started making dinner, which will be pancetta with sauteed kale and scrambled eggs. But I will probably have some TJs macarons for dessert...

Green olives have almost no net carbs, so they make a great snack food on a low carb diet.

I am looking at recipes to make a shopping list for the nanny tomorrow. I need a board name for the nanny, maybe Poppins or McPhee, since she's British.

I'll post things that sound good.

Because books.

Oh, I like McPhee.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My favorite easy crock pot meal involves throwing frozen chicken thighs in with 1 onion, 1 can of coconut milk, tomato paste, curry powder, cardamon, ginger, cayenne pepper and 1/2 stick of butter. In 4 hours you have butter chicken!
