Almonds are really good for snacking.
I have developed a toasted almond addiction. I have them to toss in salads, but end up eating them all by themselves.

Does anybody do paleo stuff?
I can't eat a lot of nuts, it pisses off my stomach and skin. I eat a LOT of spinach and fruit.
Checking in again... baking muffins and about to watch all the Nikita I can until I lose power/internet. Nora, you got power?
yep, we have power. Watching Archer.
Liese, my brother does. says he feels great.

My friend A. took her whole family to a Paleo diet after they found that her husband and kids were gluten intolerant. Started a blog about it. Says she feels better than she ever has. Realistically, low-carb is probably as close as I will ever get to paleo, myself. It's too much work.
Since we're on the subject of food, this is an interesting post on the incredible variation in how we absorb energy from food:
Consuela, that's a great article.
I am also having a text argument/discussion with new neighbor P about geeky tv. He didn't like Serenity, and I think the last few seasons of BSG were largely crap. Good times.
You tell him to SHUT UP and Mal will kick his ass, even if I basically agree with him.
Liese, here's a blog post by an athletic woman who is trying the Paleo diet: [link]
She really likes it, although I know there are questions about the, um, philosophical/anthropological underpinnings of the theory. Still, more vegetables and less processed carbs sounds like a great deal to me.
In fact, I just started making dinner, which will be pancetta with sauteed kale and scrambled eggs. But I will probably have some TJs macarons for dessert...
