Buffy: Dancing with you is way better than trying to hook up with some good-looking guy. Xander: I think I liked it more when you were kicking me in my puffy groin.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Back to bed, try to sleep now.

Thank you, Mars, for letting us put another spaceship on you!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm ashamed to know nothing about Mars, but I do know that's P&R, as -t said.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. From Jalopnik's liveblog of the landing: "This is great: according to Miles O'Brien, the holes in Curiosity's wheels spell "JPL" in morse code. This is especially great because NASA made JPL take their name off the treads earlier. Ha ha! Showed them!"

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm all wound up from the Mars landing. That was way better than the Olympic vaulting!

Vortex beat me to my response.

Just watched an ad for Dr Emily Something, MD

Was she blonde? That might have been the one with one of Meryl Streep's daughters.

Mamie Gummer?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

No. I do not know the Mohawk Guy.

Heh.

Maybe lori does.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

He already has a Tumblr devoted to him.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I fell asleep before the rover landed, but now I'm looking at Mars pictures and thinking that I should go back to school and get a degree in engineering and work on building things that go to Mars. I'm really not awake enough yet to evaluate whether this is actually a good idea or not.

I woke up to NPR's first run of the rover coverage. I still can't believe it worked. When lori first described it to me, there was some hysterical laughter and a lot of 'no, REALLY?!!' from me.

Alrighty, unto the day.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Aw, I'm sad I missed the MSL watch-n-post! In my defense, it was really goddamn late on the East Coast. But hooray Curiosity!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

You know, the whole sky-crane landing thing is straight out of science fiction, right? (Not that bouncing down with an airbag isn't, but this is even better.)

Laughing over the Mohawk flight controller. That is one attractive dude, no matter what his amusing hair is doing.
