I fell asleep before the rover landed, but now I'm looking at Mars pictures and thinking that I should go back to school and get a degree in engineering and work on building things that go to Mars. I'm really not awake enough yet to evaluate whether this is actually a good idea or not.
I woke up to NPR's first run of the rover coverage. I still can't believe it worked. When lori first described it to me, there was some hysterical laughter and a lot of 'no, REALLY?!!' from me.

Laughing over the Mohawk flight controller. That is one attractive dude, no matter what his amusing hair is doing.

As soon as I get it (I think tonight). I believe it will be an excellent birthday present for my brother (who does in fact play bass).

MAAAAAARS!
I’m just sayin’, is all.
I love how crazy Twitter is going tonight. I love that people are gathering at Times Square chanting, “Science! Science! Science!” I think we needed this. Thank you, NASA. Life can suck sometimes… but today, humanity can be proud.
