oooh! I'd much rather have berries than figs, pears and quince!

I have ripe figs on the tree in my yard. Fig ideas, anyone?

Split them, stuff them with goat cheese and wrap them in prosciutto. Stick them under the broiler (or on the grill) just long enough the crisp up the prosciutto

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Good move, bob bob!

I will happily come by and scoop up some fruit, Kat. Although I admit there's something about figs, pears and quince that seems like they're from an earlier era, aren't they Renaissance delicacies? Or is my brain misremembering things again?

Fresh figs are lovely with sugar and cream on them, then again, what wouldn't be?

I think quince will always be renaissance in my head.

We also have two cherimoya trees but they don't have any fruit. My yard is weird.

Apparently, fig newtons are best made with dry figs. So if I want to make fig newtons (my original plan) then I'll have to dry the figs first. Blargh.

I think they have fruit in winter and spring. We have a ton of flowers on the tree.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I know when I lived in a house that had a fig tree I made tons of some kind of fig based cookie. They were not very newton-like, but tasty. Possibly a recipe from californiafigs.com

My favorite is figs hot off the tree, just split 'em with my thumbs and eat. Yum. No way we could go through all the figs that way, though

Someone bring me a plate of those right now, please?

If you come to Connecticut, I can have them hot when you get here.
