I would like to invite these Second Amendment people to certain neighborhoods in Chicago to provide them with some first hand experience about why our gun policy is not so great.
Yeah, I have an uncle who is Mr. NRA, but he's afraid to go to Kansas City or St. Louis, much less Chicago.
Lots of the gun nuts of Utah would pant for the chance to go to those neighborhoods, 'cause they'd show them gangsters what's what. It would almost be amusing to see.
Yeah, I figured unfriending was better than calling her a self-righteous motherfucker.
In my heart of hearts, you said this as you unfriended her. I will not believe otherwise. Maybe it was quiet, but you said it.
Yeah, Hil, I hope she didn't fuck up your car too bad.
Dana, I posted more kitten pictures. Just for you. :)

Whaaa? I had no idea Kansas City was such a hotbed of violence?!? (St Louis...maybe East St Louis?)
KC is actually pretty murdery for a city this size; we break 100 murders each year since the mid 90s. And we have a pretty good gang culture and since so many highways run through us (and we boast a high meth lab quota) we gotcher drug-running through us pretty decent.
Go K(illa) C(ity)!
Er.
The KC neighborhood I grew up in used to be regularly featured on COPS. (Is that show still on?) I used to watch every now and then to see if I knew anyone.
Help me. Someone just said to me, "In the US, it is the jurisdictions that outlaw guns where the greatest gun violence takes place. As a general rule, they are acquired illegally; making them illegal again doesn't change much."
Is this true? Anyone know? I am incapable at this point of looking up any damn thing.
Thank you, Cashmere.
I shouldn't have posted anything. I should have expected this sort of response, and I should have known I wouldn't be up to dealing with it. But now I have to.
Yeah because I know that statement is straight bullshit. Perhaps Zenkitty you should tell the person that they are only allowed to enter into this policy discussion if they have a citation that is no older than 2000.
I learned yesterday that not very many studies on gun violence have been done recently because the NRA is trying to quash that shit.
