KC is actually pretty murdery for a city this size; we break 100 murders each year since the mid 90s. And we have a pretty good gang culture and since so many highways run through us (and we boast a high meth lab quota) we gotcher drug-running through us pretty decent.
Go K(illa) C(ity)!
Er.
The KC neighborhood I grew up in used to be regularly featured on COPS. (Is that show still on?) I used to watch every now and then to see if I knew anyone.
Help me. Someone just said to me, "In the US, it is the jurisdictions that outlaw guns where the greatest gun violence takes place. As a general rule, they are acquired illegally; making them illegal again doesn't change much."
Is this true? Anyone know? I am incapable at this point of looking up any damn thing.
Thank you, Cashmere.
I shouldn't have posted anything. I should have expected this sort of response, and I should have known I wouldn't be up to dealing with it. But now I have to.
Yeah because I know that statement is straight bullshit. Perhaps Zenkitty you should tell the person that they are only allowed to enter into this policy discussion if they have a citation that is no older than 2000.
I learned yesterday that not very many studies on gun violence have been done recently because the NRA is trying to quash that shit.
I would also like to point out that it's not actually that hard to get a gun from one part of the US to another.
how is the car (since it seems you are okay!)
It's scratched a bit, and I think a little dented, but nothing major.
Did you get her insurance, etc? because that woman committed a crime if she hit you and just drove off.

Nope. Couldn't get insurance, because she drove off. And I didn't think to look for her license plate number until after she'd turned the corner.
