Now tagless for your comfort.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thank you, Cashmere.

I shouldn't have posted anything. I should have expected this sort of response, and I should have known I wouldn't be up to dealing with it. But now I have to.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Yeah because I know that statement is straight bullshit. Perhaps Zenkitty you should tell the person that they are only allowed to enter into this policy discussion if they have a citation that is no older than 2000.

I learned yesterday that not very many studies on gun violence have been done recently because the NRA is trying to quash that shit.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would also like to point out that it's not actually that hard to get a gun from one part of the US to another.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

how is the car (since it seems you are okay!)

It's scratched a bit, and I think a little dented, but nothing major.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Did you get her insurance, etc? because that woman committed a crime if she hit you and just drove off.

Nope. Couldn't get insurance, because she drove off. And I didn't think to look for her license plate number until after she'd turned the corner.

So I am co-writing a proposal with a couple of students and we are using google docs. Okay, this works. Why is it that they INTRODUCE TYPOS as we are editing?

What the flying fuck? How is this helpful?

Do you see the fucking red line under your text? That mean that what you typed isn't a word in any dictionary and you have left out or transposed letters. We are trying to make a deadline and you are fucking UP.

Someone, give me your g*ddamn spoon, would you?

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Ack, le nub. That would make me crazy! Not like you need any more stress right now, either.

Yeah, I have an uncle who is Mr. NRA, but he's afraid to go to Kansas City or St. Louis, much less Chicago.

Oh man, this reminds me of my mom's story from when she visited us a couple of years ago. Nashville has a big literary festival every year, held over one weekend in October at the Legislative Plaza. My mom was on a panel and had gotten an email from someone, a fan in Clarksville (about an hour's drive from Nashville), who wanted to come hear her speak. So after the panel that day, at the book signing, this woman comes up and apologizes for missing the panel, because she hadn't been allowed inside the building -- which, let me remind you, is the seat of our state government. Why had she been turned away? "Well, you see, my husband said, if you're going to the big city, you better take your gun!"
