So, we're still in this heat wave where the news people on TV are warning us to not go outside lest we burst into flame. Today's high? 102. Tomorrow's high? 104. And tomorrow is the gigantic Tim's family reunion, where they try to kill me by having it outdoors.
Reprieve! The organizers sent out an e-mail last night saying that due to the risk of people bursting into flame, the reunion location is being moved to the air-conditioned convocation center of some local church. I'm glad they got some damn sense in their heads about this.
(Relatedly, I hate that it's this hot and Tim works in an un-air-conditioned warehouse. It's not like the horror stories one hears about working for Amazon; his boss is diligent about making sure they take lots of breaks and drink gatorade by the bucketful, but still -- it's a damn un-air-conditioned warehouse and today's high is going to be 102. That doesn't exactly thrill me.)

I was actually trying to figure out what I could wear that would make the ice-pack trick practicable (since wearing a corset to the family reunion might be a bit much). I hadn't worked anything out, and then Tim got the e-mail. I was starting to wonder if I could just buy a block of ice and sit on it.
