Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He has his picture up on his website?

This is a really creepy support queue meeting. People are not volunteering for development tasks, so there are more big gaps of silence, but this time our manager is on the call.

They're still not talking though, and I got asked to volunteer someone for stuff.

Uh, I have no idea and I don't manage anyone?

This week is totally Bizarro World at ita !'s work.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I finally got through to my brother, so that was good. And he said he would give me miles to fly to Colorado for a weekend, which was hella nice of him (although also the sort of thing he tends to forget he offered).

The Atlantic has a really interesting article about professional women and careers and the work-life balance, which basically says that there's no way to have it all unless American society gets restructured to work better. Which, yeah, didn't we know that already? [link]

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

He tends bar on the weekends, so there are pics of him on the bartending website.

I wonder if he can make a proper gimlet. Apparently we can hire him to do so.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And I've seen some great commentary about the bullshit packaging -- I think Jessica Valenti called it Sad White Babies with Bad Feminist Moms or something.

I also wish I had a crush.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hire him for the F2F!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I went to a house party with a bartender recently -- it was the best thing.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm starting to get a crush on Allyson's delivery guy too. Can he sing?

(Just kidding, Allyson. Will totally keep my imaginary feels off of him!)

I'm reading that people were mean to Dave Chappelle and scared him out of Texas. I am perfectly hypocritical about indulging any of his diva-like tendencies, because his shows have paid off that well for me (I'd also let Eddie Izzard get away with a lot, including my underwear (for whatever reason)). I'm not plugged into shit well enough to ever get a shot at a ticket for his show, and I am mad that people who actually paid money for it had asses mess it up.

Oh, Allyson, FYI, this is the point where my sister lets me bang her crush so we can keep it in the family. We're like family right?

(I have been sworn off certain people born in the latter half of 1972, as well as the guy from Adjustment Bureau, though. It's inconsistent and annoying.)
