Xander: Just once I'd like to run into a cult of bunny worshippers. Anya: Great. Thank you very much for those nightmares.

Because books.

Speaking of pop culture and our generation, we were dancing to Saturday Night Fever tonight at the neighbors', and it was so good to be in a room full of people my age, who remember that music.

Beau was calling me Spock

It's probably the beer, but I pictured Benjamin Spock first. Oops.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I feel like I am going sky diving for the first time and I don't quite know what to expect.

I've gone sky diving! You can expect: exhilaration, freedom, gravity, manageable terror.

Heh.

Loki and Pumpkin were curled up against each other, but now it has devolved into a mutual Pumpkin-led grooming session. Aaand Loki is enjoying it. Ears really clean.

So nice to know I've got a couple of cats who derive comfort from each other. Even though MK was Lokes' big brother, they never really got cuddly for very long. Pumk actually choses to curl up with Loki and vice versa.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Aw Pumpkin and Loki cuteness!

I feel like I've been tired for at least a year. Each week, there is a day where I think, "I have never been this tired before." So I've been thinking I'm not allowed to call myself tired any more. It's redundant and it doesn't help. Also, I am, perhaps, tired because both my work and home life have been full of stress.

But today, it occurred to me to consider that I am tired because I am old. ACK.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh man this is good! My favorite comic exchange in the first Legend of Korra episode and how it was modeled by creator Bryan Konietzko.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I don't think you are old, Kat. You are the Queen of Back Hand Springs!

Oh I miss kitty grooming sessions! My old roommate's cat Mick used to surreptitiously groom Burrell and we'd find them both looking mildly embarrassed and her looking quite damp about the forehead. They were both so young then, now both cats are gone. But still, a good memory.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So I just listened to Amber Benson read about blowjobs, ejaculation, semen, and "pussy blood." It was hilarious.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just finished reconciling 9 months of bank statements. Oddly not hilarious.

I just paid some bills and realized my one credit card bill is due on Monday, and therefore will be a day late. Crap. Must call them tomorrow and beg. Argh. And this is of course the one month that I actually put something semi-large on that credit card--usually it's just my iTunes and Kindle purchases, so it's normally less than $100. Oops.

Went dancing. Had a decent time. More dancing tomorrow. May fall over dead sleepy.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Whoot! Back from the game. Much fun.

To my far left: four guys in Winnipeg Jets Dustin Byfuglien jerseys (my favorite player who was traded away, woes), then a dad taking his son to his first NHL game ("Dad, this is so much better than watching on tv!" this, before even any players came out.) To my right, two women who flew in from Chicago.
