Happy Birthday, Cass! Cupcakes for the win.
Happy Father's Day, dads!
I would like to state for the record and so that no one in charge of the weather thinks I'm taking it for granted -- the weather here for the past week has been perfect. Middle of June, and comfortably warm to pleasantly cool outside for the last week. So freaking awesome. I am appreciating every minute of it, weather gods. Thank you. Please continue.
Happy Father's Day to all the Buffista dads and daddy figures!
Almost all; in Australia we celebrate Father's Day in September. (I did spend Sunday in fatherly duties, though, tending to a vomiting little boy at 5 a.m. the one night, and a slightly feverish little boy at 3 a.m. the next.)
I'd have added a couple of inches or so to the humans
Are D&D humans taller than average Western humans?
Oh, and I have another question which isn't D&D, it's hentai. I'm trying to work out what's going on in this [link] -- there are three people in the pic, right? That's an abdomen in the bottom right of the picture. What's in the girl on the right's mouth? Whose breast is the one on the left? The left boob of the chick on the left?
Unrelated to the hentai, so...Bunheads. I'm happy that the lead is comparatively plain. She's tall and thin, sure, but not in the typical Hollywood way. Even though she's reacted like she's pretty, it's real life pretty. I'm sure she hasn't had her pick of TV or film roles. Sure, it's ABC Family not ABC proper, but still. She has relatively few TV credits. Her longest onscreen stint before Bunheads is the Conchords. I remember the point at which my standup friends would go "Oh, okay, I guess I'm auditioning for the wacky neighbour, then." And they were guys. I can't imagine what it must be like for a pretty woman who's not "right" pretty.
And, to drive that home, there was a "Salma Hayek looking like a 'wreck'" ad during it.

I think you might have missed the whole Tony-award winning part of her bio? I don't think she's lacked for offers.
I could google this but I'd rather talk to Buffistas: How many minutes per pound do I roast a chicken? I have a 4-lb chicken.
Are D&D humans taller than average Western humans?
It depends a bit on the edition, but generally yes - especially if comparing them to humans at a Medieval level of nourishment. IIRC, 1st ed AD&D made human males 6' tall on average. The latest edition has humans spread between 5'6" and 6'2" - and that's over both men and women.

No, not at all. In fact, my point is mostly about how TV works. She's got a solid Broadway past: [link] but they're not trading on the same currency as TV. She's not conventionally pretty enough to be the fat comedian's wife. That's why she stands out. Do you think that female characters played that plain often are leads on network shows? In their late 30s?

How come the half orcs are so short? How tall are full orcs?
Consuela,
that's a good question. I have found that most estimates I have gotten from the Internet I have had to modify given my oven. Do you have a meat thermometer?
I would guess 10 minutes per lb at 450 degrees (if you want the nice crispy skin), but it may be more like 15 minutes per lb.
You think Foster, one of the most successful women in Broadway history, couldn't get a leading role because of her looks? What possible evidence of that do you have? I can tell you that tv networks pursue deals with Tony winners, which is why, for example, Sara Ramirez has a role on Grey's.
