If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well, armageddon may have arrived. The local news is showing a current temp in Gary, Indiana, of 207 degrees.

(Weatherlady assures us it's a sensor issue, but I am skeptical.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Tom, have you seen a doctor? Because I'm worried, there's been a recurrence of whooping cough around here and the vaccines actually do wear off, so. Three nights of no sleep merits at least prescription cough drugs (and yes, codeine works like a charm) and a doctor checking for pneumonia and other lung irritants.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Definitely go to the doctor, Tom! When I had a bad cold/flu (depending on who you ask), I didn't get codeine, but whatever the stuff was I got, it worked brilliantly as far as sleeping went.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I could call Hubby and plead pathetically for my big strong Hubby to come save me.

Well, I tend to ask Tom for help on stuff I am pretty sure I could take care of myself, because the two of us together tends to be greater than the sum of our parts. However, when I ripped the front bumper off the car the same day Tom's mom died, I dealt with that solo. (If they'd been able to fix it that afternoon, he'd never even known!)

I look more rad than Lutheranism

It does. And if you don't want codeine or the doctor doesn't want to prescribe it, then ask for Tessalon Pearls. They are MAGIC. And non-narcotic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Somehow MacGyver came up in art class yesterday, and they needed to know who played him. This time, I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and the general response was "Hey! 70s action stars for $100, Alex!" And I'm all "70s?" and "Sure, if they then go on to be my TV husband, yes I know them..."

Then the discussion went on to if Jeopardy is filmed in LA, and the decision was that it must, because White Men Can't Jump was set in Venice, and therefore...

So, yeah, there are some potential geeks in that room, and some very not.

Art Crawl!!!

I didn't realize that adults could get whooping cough. . . not sure why I thought we were exempt.

ita - you are an excellent draughstwoman. I was a painting major and my drawing skills aren't anywhere near your's.

Tessalon Pearls

That's totally what I was talking about! Or some version -- definitely a clear yellow liquid capsule situation.
