Because he doesn't want to spend some time setting up online bill pay somewhere else? I thought it was odd. I get not changing banks to avoid a hassle, because that's been me for the past ten years, but now with the fee? I'm pissed, so I'll take that hour or so to move somewhere else
I've been failing to move over from Chase to my credit union for months now. Having the time to set it up and get EVERYTHING back in place is something I haven't had.
Sure, but you're not trapped. It is an inconvenience for me, too. I just think it will be interesting to see whether people really do just suck up the fee and stay.

the banks can go fuck themselves. at most I am willing to incur one month's worth of fees and then I'm out.
big banks might feel self-satisfied for a month, but when the customers get their statements and see the fees I think they will bail.
People might not leave all at once, but I bet there will be a stream of people moving their accounts over the next 3-6 months.
November 5th is leave your bank day and bank trolls are spamming the facebook page of this movement every day. Banks are worried.
