Penny's blood work is back, she might have an infection , it might be something else. But we're starting with an antibiotic.
Dean goes to the vet tomorrow for rabies shot.
Penny is in the dog crate, which is more of a "micro studio" and she's not happy, but hopefully this will keep her from moving around too much. There's no room for a litter box so I'll have to let her out to eat and use one.
I hope the antibiotics help, askye.
So I did dress up a bit, and I took a copy of my resume, and I have been pretty much been offered a full or part-time canvassing position where I go door to door and talk to people about refinery accidents. I'm going to go do an "observation interview" where I go along with an experienced canvasser and see what I think. It's one of those "minimum wage plus a percentage of the fundraising" jobs.
Pluses - if I'm good I can earn more, lots of exercise (walking), getting to see different neighborhoods and towns, refining my polite debate skills, learning more about oil refinery issues, weekends free, healthcare after 3 mos and 3 wks vacation after 6 mos. Minuses - work hours are 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm (not necessarily a minus, just a shift in schedule), dealing with potential hostility and unsuccessful days, etc.
I was frank about it probably being a short term position, and I'd probably do it part time so I can keep looking for fulltime work. He was cool with that, and one of the first things he said to me was that I was overqualified.
So, yeah. There's that! Probably wouldn't start until after HG is done here.
Historic Green (er, I think that's the name? smonster's gateway drug to New Orleans?)
Hunger Games ?
Ahaha. Coincidentally, the release of that HG is right after this HG ends. meara got it. So, either one, really.
Sounds like a good interim gig, smonster. And go you in finding something new in, what is is, a day after getting laid off?
Go, smonster for finding something so quickly! Continued ~ma for finding something long term.
Smonsters great! (sung to Bill Cosby "chocolate cake" bit)
Um. How do I clean a wooden table? Like, *clean* it.
I just had to help a cat clean himself up after a pooing situation went wrong, and of course he fled from my aid before I got a good grip on him, and he went across a table that I had neglected to put a cover back on. Sometimes I eat on that table. I'd like to be sure it's clean. But it's wood, and I've never had to sanitize wood before.
If Social Services ever inquires as to my mental health, nobody mention this.
Okay, I wiped it down, sprayed it with Lysol surface cleaner, and put the cover back on. Cat is hiding in mortification and fury.
