Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

All of this weirdness finally bounced back to my PCP, who just called me to say this had been handled all wrong, she'd talked to a gastroenterologist and gastroenterology will call me Monday or Tuesday. The bad news is that they're probably going to want to look at my whole damn intestinal tract. Everyone seems to think the odds are it's something like an ulcer, which would be the good news.

Sigh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Erin, my niece has a hot tub that I and my friends are always welcome to use, so I suggest you come to my place, and help me organize my office, and we'll re-write my resume in the hot tub while drinking wine.

I used to IM a lot, until the group of friends I IMed with broke up over an argument about which was worse, RPF or underage-porn fic. (Not even kidding.) I don't like talking on the phone, and I'm always wandering around or doing something else while I'm talking, but the only people I talk on the phone with for more than five minutes are my sister and my BFF, so that's okay. E-mail is my favorite form of communication.

Ginger, may your appt get scheduled soon and the results be non-worrying. sj, may you get your house and quickly get on to the fun parts of picking paint colors! Pain-free ~ma to everyone with back aches and head aches and joint aches. What's up, you'd think we were getting old.

Gosh, there's a gorgeous sunset happening out there.

Ginger, I haven't gotten the post out yet, but I am really thinking good thoughts for you. Nothing at all or completely manageable, is what.

Maria, I'm so sorry.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Maria, that's so, so hard. Maybe some of Rob's friends or family have voicemail from him, and you could record that. If you're willing to ask around, I bet someone has something.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Crunchy has one that he's going to record for me. He also has Rob's phone to get the contacts off of it. Since it's an iPhone, we may be able to still pull the outgoing message off.

It's just a gut-punch, when I specifically asked to be notified before it happened. There's a few other things that his dad is doing that are creating tension, and it's putting me on edge. Yes, he was your son, but he was my husband. You don't have the monopoly on his wordly possessions, or the final say.

Oh, I get that. I should have clarified that. It feels so dismissive of you and your feelings.

You don't have the monopoly on his wordly possessions, or the final say.

Yikes. I know there's grief all around, and people are going to act in inappropriate ways, but I wish he weren't creating tension for you. Why make it all harder? What's the damn point?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

{{{Maria}}}

Ginger, I've been thinking about you all day. I wish you tons of it's-nothing~ma.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Maria, if they just turned off the account, the message may still be on the cell company's server.

You don't have the monopoly on his wordly possessions, or the final say.

Unless the possession in questions has been handed down in the family for generations, he has no say at all. Change the locks and the passwords or whatever it takes to keep him from doing things without your knowledge. He probably has that urge to do *something* that overcomes people who don't know how to deal with grief.

Thanks, ChiKat. I know you understand the fear that's always ready to jump out.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Ginger,

I had to laugh (ruefully) about your crack regarding drinking that shit feeling like waterboarding. You are absolutely right. It makes me gag and I have not been able to get past that.

I hope you can have an endoscopy instead. I actually preferred that. But then I didn't have to drink anything regrettable beforehand.

I'm glad the medical professionals are getting their act together.
